This week

This week (and last),

-I finally met my 2 month old niece, the newest addition to the family.

-After much anticipation, Francie was thrilled to meet her new cousin.  Can't wait to see those two playing together in the coming years.

-A new duneri has opened up in our neighborhood. I'm looking forward to trying it out soon, yummm.

-We went to our regular place for Chinese and I found a hair in the fried rice, hate when that happens!  I'm thinking it might be time to try somewhere different.

-There were, and continue to be, protests everyday downtown in Sofia.  Needless to say, I have yet to venture to the city center.

-The Bulgarian Prime Minister called it quits.

-Martin had his interview at the embassy and was approved for his immigrant visa!  Six months of paperwork, document gathering and sending, stressing, and sleepless nights have all paid off.  We are so excited, nervous, and relieved all at the same time.

-We ate pancakes, lots and lots of pancakes.  Some celebratory, some just because.  They're always a good idea though, no excuse needed.

  1. Welcome back, Lauren! Sofia missed you! Where is the new duneri? You know how much I love me a duner kebab! I hope your regular Chinese place isn't the one we go to (Ta Fu Hao on Copenhagen Blvd.). We just got take-out from there a few nights ago. Hairs in food is THE WORST! Congrats to Martin on getting his visa.

  4. You know where I find to always be reliably good is a chain place- Pei Wei.  If you have any in your area, try it out.  Since it's the same all over, the food quality is consistent.

  5. Thanks!  The duner place is behind the DM that sits on the corner, the one across from the Kaufland.  Our Chinese place is Sun Chan Chen or something like that, but I'm ready to try somewhere else!

  6. "made of chicken meat, and it’s wrapped in a flatbread or Turkish wrap. It consist a wide variety of salad choices most commonly used are tomatoes, chopped lettuce, onions, hot peppers, cabbage and cucumbers. Rice and bean salads are offered along the coastline. In recent years the use of French fries has become a popular ingredient. It is served with yoghurt-mayonnaise based garlic sauce, with ketchup or mayonnaise on demand, and hot spices."  - I just copy/pasted from Wikipedia, haha.  I can tell you it is absolutely delicious and hits the spot every time!
